We were briefed to design a cutting-edge modern home on a piece of land abutting the nature reserve in Clifton, Cape Town. We did this design some time ago, but it is still a futuristic design. We designed four stories built into the cliff, including a basement for twelve vehicles which come down in a vehicle elevator from the road high above. The edifice almost hangs off the cliff, which is the design intent, and it gives a vast 180-degree uninterrupted vista of the sea and the 4 Clifton beaches. This futuristic design will set the bar for uncommon luxury and privileged living for a long time to come.
“Less is more” and “form follows function” are the two philosophical pillars which become crystal clear when admiring the clean lined and clear-faceted design of the proposed residence. We have included 3 elevators given how far it is from the road above to the floors below – a vehicle elevator, a visitor elevator as well as a resident elevator. The home includes a cinema, gym, library, hotel-like spa and five bedrooms, all en-suite.
